WILDCARD APPLICATION
The SRS receives a large number of Wildcard requests for each event. The following policy will be applied to all registrations
NOTE: The Wildcard program will finish at the end of 2026, for general applications by pilots.
- 120 places will be awarded strictly by SRS Score/ time paid.
- 5 places will be reserved for partner requests/SRS Org.
- 5 places maximum will remain for pilot Wildcard requests. Places are selected by a committee. What you write as your reason is important.
Reasons to award a Wildcard
- A pilot returning after a period of absence from competing, regardless of the level they competed at.
- A pilot that can enhance the SRS in some positive manner.
- At the request of the local organisation, but subject to SRS Org approval. Usually this is for Task Committee roles by local pilots.
Wildcards will not be awarded based on WPRS. This is against the philosophy of the SRS. Nor will they be awarded simply because your SRS Score is too low.
Do not apply for multiple events in the same season. If you are unsuccessful on the first try, it is unlikely you will be considered for events thereafter. It would be better for you to instead look towards pre-SRS or SRS Qualifier events to boost your SRS Score and enter in the standard manner.
Wildcards will be selected by the SRS Organisation and typically approved 30-60 days prior to the start of an event. An application for a wildcard must be made on the following form:
