  • 2025-4, Ager, Spain, Task 3

Well done to today’s task winners Pal Takats, Riley Ferre and team Ozone.
The task opened under forbiddingly grey skies. Pilots who took off early found it difficult to stay high and much grovelling went on, both on the main ridge, and the lower front ridge. But, like a miracle, when the start opened, thermals started popping up everywhere, and the task got under way. The first turnpoint gave incredible views of the gorge, but after that, it was a long slog into wind on full bar.
The eastern section of the ridge gave much better climbs, and the leading pilots arrived above the third turnpoint with plenty of height. After that, it was conservation time, taking every climb to get over the flats to Isona. A nice thermal there got pilots into gliding range of goal, and it was full bar time en-route to the lovely Chiringita goal on the lake.

  • 2025-4, Ager, Spain, Task 2

Well done to today’s winners Abel Varga, Riley Ferre and team Ozone. The 75 km task commenced with a ridge run along the cliffs towards Vilanova. The upper ridge was in cloud at times but did clear in time for the start. The next leg across the flats towards the second turnpoint at Abella de la Conca, a beautiful village perched on the cliffs, promised to be the most difficult but, in the end, proved to be pretty straightforward. After that, the choice was between the high ridge to Organya or the lower front ridge. The former proved quite problematic with fairly strong wind but was the faster option. After that it was full speed ahead, back along the upper ridge into the wind being buffeted by strong thermals, escorted by friendly vultures, until finally it was possible to glide into goal. Well done to the 74 pilots who made goal on the beautiful shores of Panta de Sant Antoni. The full scores are at: https://srs.live#task and the overall comp scores: https://srs.live/scores. • 2025-4 Ager, Spain, Task 1

44 pilots flew the longest ever SRS task today, a stunning 117kms over some of the finest scenery on the paragliding planet, all the way to Organya. In fact, it was so far that pilot Rep Chris Hobbs exhausted his entire ABBA play list en route. Well done to Gerry McNicol claiming his first SRS win, to first lady Riley Ferry, and to top team Perfils. Well done to the Goldsmiths, who were the top father and son team today. This is how Gerry described today’s task: A big task to kick things off, 117km of bumpy ridge racing mixed with slow and tactical flatland. The day shifted gears multiple times. No clouds meant that feeling out the convergence lines was tricky. The crux was crossing the valley. My group choose the direct path and we scratched through some very slow climbs, touch and go at points. After the valley the race was anyone’s. It was just who got the boomer thermal. Luckily a magical vulture came to find me and show me the way. I was rewarded with a sustained 6 up screamer that took me all the way to goal. Great task.
