Well done to today’s winners Abel Varga, Riley Ferre and team Ozone. The 75 km task commenced with a ridge run along the cliffs towards Vilanova. The upper ridge was in cloud at times but did clear in time for the start. The next leg across the flats towards the second turnpoint at Abella de la Conca, a beautiful village perched on the cliffs, promised to be the most difficult but, in the end, proved to be pretty straightforward. After that, the choice was between the high ridge to Organya or the lower front ridge. The former proved quite problematic with fairly strong wind but was the faster option. After that it was full speed ahead, back along the upper ridge into the wind being buffeted by strong thermals, escorted by friendly vultures, until finally it was possible to glide into goal.
